We do not share your data with third parties. If we collect data from customers of our products or users of our services, then we use this data exclusively to improve our products and services.

titleWhat's that supposed to mean?

We are interested to learn which of our blog articles or which parts of our product documentation on our website is actually used. This includes that we need to learn which pages on our site you have been visiting in the past. With this information we are able to improve our services continuously according to their actual usage.

To collect this information we use PIWIK/Matomo (e.g. for data on our website) and Google Analytics (e.g for data on the Atlassian Marketplace or YouTube).

Some of our services are hosted on our own servers, some are hosted on servers of third parties. None of our services is hosted in a data center of our own.

  1. Services hosted on servers of third party data centers do not provide user self administration features. User accounts are created by service administrators. Users with access to such an account may direct their privacy related questions to their service administrator.
  2. Services hosted by third parties provide self administration features. The data required to create a user account is defined by this third party. Data we use to provide our services are:
    1. the name of the person (in order to address this person in our communication) and
    2. the e-mail address (in order to send messages to this person).

Please note that the name you provide does not need to be authentic in order to use our services.

Users may at any time withdraw their consent to allow us getting in touch.

If you create a ticket to one of our products with the service desk, we will use the information provided to answer your question. This may be via the service desk or via e-mail. The service and your user account is hosted on software and hardware provided by Atlassian.

If you own a license or trial-license of one of our products, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. We use this e-mail to provide support to you to use your new product. This may include further information on services and products that may be of interest to you. With receiving this e-mail you may withdraw your consent to allow us to get in touch.

If you are not the owner of a license, then we do not get in touch unless you explicitly tell us otherwise. If you make a request by creating a ticket, we assume that you also request that we return an answer to you question. This will include to return to you to check our quality of service. At any time you may withdraw your consent to allow us getting in touch.

Personal information of customers and users of our services that has been included in messages sent to us, will be stored on our servers or on servers of a third party that is hosting the used service. Although we do not pass this information to third parties, our users must be aware of this. Therefore we kindly request users to double check the information they send to us. Please include only information we actually need to knwo to solve your problem. This typically does only include your chosen name and an e-mail address.

If you get in touch then check your messages for information you do not need to share. It would be reasonable to not send us your postal address or telephone number since we do not need this information to get in touch with you. This does not imply that we would use this information sent to us involuntary in any way. We just would like to sensibilize you to protect your privacy.

Since we do not share your personal data with others this may seem to be no concern to you. But information may leak (e.g. by sending an e-mail) to third parties unnoticed. Therefore any personal information not shared will be inaccessible to attacking third parties.
