Compare the way of creating and maintaining sections in Confluence with and without the projectdoc Toolbox.

Sections are used to structure pages. Sections have a title and a body and can be nested.

We refer to Confluence 5.9 and the projectdoc Toolbox 1.10 for our discussion.

Summary

There is no special macro to render sections in Confluence. Therefore the system cannot distinguish between section with and without content.

The projectdoc Toolbox provides a Section Macro that defines sections. These sections form the template the page author uses to create documents, but without content do not render to the reader.

The following table lists features that are related to one of the macros discussed, but are implemented by different macros. In this case the macro providing the feature is listed. No extra cost is involved to use the mentioned macros, since all these macros are either part of Confluence or the projectdoc Toolbox Add-on.
