Remote controls are referencing a target macro and provide a parameter name and a value. The remote control overrides the parameter of the specified macro with a new value before the target page is rendered.
The projectdoc Toolbox handles all registered macros with their parameters that contain property names. The extracted parameter names are added to the corresponding artificial property. If, for instance, the macro parameter is 'select' then the remote value is added to the artificial property projectdoc Select in Property Name References. For all remote controls that are not handled this way, the value will be added to this list of remote controls. So this is a default-catch-all for remote control values.
